Where the money comes from

First Hour Review is funded by the people who run it. There are no sponsored articles, no paid placements and no affiliate links on this site. If that ever changes, for example if we add clearly labelled advertising, this page will say so first and every affected page will carry a visible label.

Publishers and platforms

• Publishers cannot pay for a review, a score, a better position or a faster review.
• We don't accept review copies, early access or gifts with conditions attached. If a publisher ever sends anything, the review will say so.
• Nobody outside the team sees a review or a score before it is published.
• We have no commercial relationship with any store, payment provider or gift card brand named on this site.

Honest reviews and UK law

Since April 2025, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 makes it unlawful to publish fake consumer reviews or to hide that a review was paid for. We welcome that. Every score here is our own editorial judgement, the method behind it is published, we never show invented reader ratings, and we never accept anything in return for a review.

Corrections

Prices move and games change. When we correct a fact, we update the page and the date at the top. If a correction changes a score or a wallet grade, we add a short note explaining why. Send corrections through the contact page.
